I have this habit of checking out what’s in other people’s shopping carts as I stand in line at checkout. Okay, first a disclaimer, I’m not a naturally nosy person and most times, I could care less what other people buy. But somehow standing in line doesn’t strike me as the most productive aspect of shopping. So can you blame me when my eyes start to wander and my nose starts sniffing out (discreetly, of course) shopping baskets nearby? That’s not necessarily a bad thing though. Sometimes looking into their carts, I’m reminded of things I have to buy. Or I see something cute that I’m interested to buy. Or as in what happens all the time, I see them buying multiples of the same item and it prompts me to wonder if that item may be on sale. Recently the lady in front of me was heaping on toothpaste like there’s no tomorrow. Suspecting that toothpaste may be on sale, I dash over to the toothpaste section. True enough, it was on sale! Yay! It was my turn to heap on toothpaste like there’s no tomorrow.
