listless
If you're a shopaholic like me, you'll want to subscribe to my RSS feed to find out about the latest in shopping.
The weekend is here, yay! My shopping list is long but it’s ready. I found out this week that I’d forgotten to buy so many groceries that I was supposed to have bought last week.
I’ve been going groceries on a weekend without a shopping list the past coupla weekends, that’s why. Too busy to make out a list. Thought I could just reel off my mental notes.
Then of course, on the weekend, the store is packed like sardines and I just can’t focus very well when I’m trying to avoid running my cart into someone else’s half the time.
Turns out I was completely out of spaghetti Monday. Only realized it after I’d prepared the accompanying ingredients including seasoning the fish fillets to be grilled. Had to improvise with potatoes instead.
I wanted to do a roast chicken but didn’t buy the chicken. Had pork chops instead. Heh!
Lesson learnt: If you’re grocery-shopping on a weekend without a list, don’t kick yourself when you discover you’ve forgotten to buy this or that!
It’s hard to concentrate when it’s too crowded. You walk down one aisle knowing exactly what you want but by the time you’re done dodging twelve people with their kids and carts, you might as well start over from the top.
