midnight madness?
So did any of you night owls do the midnight shopping doo-dah last night? I didn’t. Was planning to but once I got into my jammies, there was no turning back. Decided to get my beauty sleep instead of spending money.
Well, there’s always tonight, I guess, to get down to join in the midnight madness. I’d better not think too much because the more I think about the insane traffic and crowd, the less inclined I am to leave my house   !
We’ll see…

Late Night Shopping @ Midvalley Megamall
The third night of midnight shopping continues at Midvalley and that happens on September 1 from 10:00pm through 12:00 midnight.
Ah, if you’re not getting dark circles around your eyes by now, you must’ve missed out somewhere along the line
!
Again lots of fun stuff and prizes to be won at games and contests going on all over the mall, and you know how big this place is.

Late Night Sale @ the Curve
The Curve will be having its Late Night Sale on August 31 from 10:00pm through 12:00 midnight. I think they’ll be converting the street in front of the Curve and Ikano into a pedestrian mall like they usually do.
There will be live music performances by various artists (sorry I can’t name any of them off the top of my head ‘cos I’m so behind in the local music scene).
Besides the discounts at their outlets, there’ll be Marching Band performances, buskers, stilt walkers, barkers and balloon drops! These should be really fun for the kids especially.
I believe (but I can’t be sure since I can find any specific mention of the dates) that there will also be a fireworks display likely tonight.

Whoa, this is going to be one crazy shopaholic National Day weekend! Many of our favorite malls will be having midnight sales and fireworks to celebrate. Guess where all the die-hard shopaholics will be tonight.
At 1 Utama, the midnight sale will start at 9:00pm thru’ 12:00 midnight. Expect lots of offers and rewards, games and stuff.
One Card members will enjoy double Upoints at One Card participating outlets. These are the stores with the big red One Card doormat at the store entrance, you can’t miss them!

the perfect gift in a framed share certificate
I have two cousins who will be graduating from college soon. My dad wants me to pick out the perfect graduation gift (on his behalf) for them.
I’m cracking my head here. One’s an accounting major and the other’s a business major. So what would be perfect for these young people who’re just coming out in the world?
Aha, got it! Howz about a real Disney share (in the form of a certificate) mounted on a beautiful frame? The perfect gift for someone who’s starting a career in the financial field. Brilliant idea!
These are real shares of publicly traded companies traded at the stock exchange. I get to choose which companies at ShareInAFrame.com. I think I’ll take the Disney stock for my girl cousin and the Harley Davidson stock for the guy. What do you think
?
The good thing is ShareInAFrame.com only charges a nominal transaction fee for processing (no costly broker fees) and a small charge for framing the share certificate in a high quality wooden frame. I can personalize the gift by having them engrave 3 lines of text on the plaque for free!
I can’t believe I found a gift that would actually increase in value at such a fantastic price. Dear dad’s going to be mighty pleased

5 reasons to shop on weekdays
I love shopping on weekdays (happily working at home allows me to do this). And why is weekday shopping to appealing?
1. There’s no reason to use the middle finger on anyone in the course of looking for a parking spot
.
2. The air is fresher and cooler which is one good reason to get out of the weather outside and into a mall for the free air-conditioning   .
3. There is no Supermarket Race to the checkout line! Forget the weekend sports shoes because you have the luxury of walking (not sprinting!) down the supermarket aisles, and of course, there’s the joy of not having your toes stepped on.
4. You can actually see what you’re buying and compare prices if you so wish.
5. Then if you decide to grab a bite to eat after all that shopping, you get a bigger meal portion with better service. I’ve noticed that in general, meal portions are smaller and the food doesn’t taste as good on the weekends.
Compare this with the typical weekend scenario: Rush the customer in, slap their meal together in 3 seconds flat, serve it to them, then prepare to clear their tables before they’re done and rush them out the door. NEXT!
Or worse, you could be waiting forever for a meal that never comes!
