super shopping tips for the shopaholic (1)

The sales are on everywhere and the crowds are thick on weekends. The shopaholics are out in full force and I’m one of them :P .

When I want to get down to some serious shopping, i.e. not just window shopping, I typically have a game plan to make sure I get what I want and don’t end up regretting that I could’ve done better.

1. Don’t bring your kids if they are babies or too young to be left on their own. My reasons for this are: (1) you don’t want to lose them in the crowd, (2) you want to be able to focus on getting the best deals and be out of there fast.

2. Shop light. Bring a big almost-empty tote bag to hold the lighter items you buy. Dump the non-necessities and leave them at home. Trust me, you won’t like carrying a deadweight on top of all the shopping bags you’re going to end up with.

3. Leave both hands free. It’s hard to shop with fewer than two hands. Sometimes I wish I had three, four hands  .

Happy shopping!
