how not to lose your kids when out shopping

If you're a shopaholic like me, you'll want to subscribe to my RSS feed to find out about the latest in shopping.

It can be stressful when you’re out shopping with young kids. It means you have to stay alert at all times especially in crowded places.

Some new parents tend to leave their stroller with the baby inside, or toddlers on their own and walk away to shop or buy tickets or whatever. They seem to forget their kids (not on purpose, of course) temporarily until they start crying or calling out.

Here are some tips to ensure you don’t lose your kids (accidentally, of course  ):

(1) Keep wandering toddlers on a leash.

(2) Hold your child’s hand when walking and tell them to stay close at all times.

(3) Keep your kids in your line of sight. They should be walking beside you or in front of you, not behind you.

(4) If you have a number of kids with you, stop and do a headcount every now and again to ensure everyone’s accounted. Or assign the job to an older child.

(5) Get the older kids agreed on a central location to meet up in case you get separated in the crowd. For younger kids, you might do a show and tell. Physically take them to the agreed location and tell them that’s where they have to wait if they get lost.

Just a few suggestions. Now go out and have a good time :) .
