Jusco Sunway is open

For the die-hard Jusco fans, Jusco has just opened up a new store at the remodeled Sunway Pyramid yesterday. All the other Jusco sales are on right now through October 14 including at this new store.

The Jusco food area is what I love best. There’s so many choices of Japanese food, local food and La Boheme breads, I always end up buying more ready-to-eat food than we can eat.

There was a time when I used to cook a lot, a lot more than I do now, and I took it so seriously I even used to wear an apron. It’s a case of having watched too many cooking shows on TV, I guess.

Speaking of aprons, did you know they’re getting prettier and wittier? I love the ones with smart quotes on them that say things like “Kiss the Cook, She’s HOT!”. Well, okay, I made that up myself but you get the picture.

In fact, if I bought a plain one, I’d probably paint on it and include some witty quote of my own. I love to personalize stuff.

jetset shopaholics?

I seem to be seeing some very fancy vessel sinks at hotels and restaurants. Like the one at Vietnam Kitchen is a huge white bowl with a bamboo spout as the faucet. It’s really neat like you were washing your hands in the forest or something.

Then there’s this hexagonal one that I saw at a hotel. I really like how it looks like a shallow fruit or salad plate. If I were having my home remodeled, I’d choose to use of these fancy sinks. They really make a statement.

bustling shops

I went to a wedding dinner at Ampang Jaya last night and was surprised to find a bustling neighborhood with rows of shops selling a whole lot of things.

I mean, the place was so busy we couldn’t find a parking spot, and ended up parking a half a mile away. Geesh and walking to the restaurant!

We walked past shops selling toys, cars, car and bathroom accessories, home furnishings, furniture – the place is positively throbbing with activity. We were in a hurry or we would’ve stopped in at the shops  :wink: .

shopping reminder: watch your kids!

This shopping season, the crowds will be thick as usual and you’ll be easily distracted by the bargains and sales.

Your kids too will be easily distracted. So you just have to be sure you keep a sharp eye on your kids. Always keep them where you can see them..

I’ve previously talked at length about how not to lose your kids when you’re out shopping. During the shopping frenzy, there’ll be lots of people about. You just never know with some people, they may have bad intentions.

So I’d say, just be extra careful with your babies and kids when you’re out having a good time. Keep them close to you  :smile: .
