year-end festive line-up
Posted in events
For all intents and purposes, the year-end shopping season is already here. Well, now that the Mooncake Festival is over, we’ll be having one festival after another rolling up:
- Raya (mid October) – where new clothes, upgraded home furnishings and lavish dinners are customary
- Halloween (end October)- although not popular here right now is being promoted to kids, which means the parents have to fork out more money for costumes, duh!
- Thanksgiving (end November) – probably celebrated only me (blame it on my American education
) and a handful of others - Christmas/New Year’s (December/January) – the gift-giving event of the year!
- Chinese New Year (January or February) – again new clothes, upgraded home furnishings, lavish dinners and gifts are customary
- Valentine’s – ouch!!
So are we all set with our bulgy wallets
??
