a land of surprises
The world’s become so small these days that people travel just about everywhere all the time. Because travel is relatively inexpensive and so convenient, it’s done away with a lot of the stigmas people have about visiting a certain place.
Take Russia, for instance. It used to be pretty cut off from the rest of the world and people tended not to visit because maybe they were influenced by the stereotypes associated with it. But Russia is a country, just like all the other countries, with its own mix of cultures, cuisines and interesting landscapes.
St Petersburg is a bustling city with some of the most beautiful architectures in the world. The Russians are gentle, fun-loving people and their language, if you care to listen, is just as beautiful as any other.
In fact, this reminds me that many years ago, a girl friend of mine went to Visit Russia all by herself. Yep, she was all for the adventure of visiting a place that many might not have thought to visit at the time.
When she came back, she was full of stories about how beautiful the place is and the wonderfully interesting people she’d met there. Listening to her, we too felt that it’s a place we should visit when we get the chance.
