Steev wanted to know the difference between soft contact lenses and rigid gas permeables (RGP). Since I’ve done some thorough research on these before, I was only too eager to explain.
Soft lenses:
- Soft lenses are jelly-like so your eyes will take to them like ducks to water. No adjustment period needed.
- They’re pretty high maintenance. You have to wash them in solution, not tap water and keep them super clean. In other words, treat your lenses well or they’ll give you an eye infection.
- They tear easily so you have to be careful.
- They’re worn for convenience and vanity, and won’t help reduce your short-sightedness.
Rigid Gas Permeable Lenses:
- RGPs are technically hard lenses with built-in breathing space for your eyes.
- They’re not picky and are fairly easy to care for, just that you have to keep them clean as you would anything that you put into your eyes.
- They’re very hardy and are easy to care for.
- They will help reduce your short-sightedness.
- soft lenses, to try or not to try?
- fast money
- four stickers short of a Tigger
- protein removal tablets, where are you?
- piping hot water any time
