kitchen makeover with new colors, new blinds

The festive season is coming up and I want to make over my kitchen. You know, replace my kitchen blinds, paint the walls a bright yellow and add more colors here and there.
Right now, I’ve got the vinyl blinds which are pretty easy to clean but I’m getting bored with those and I’m looking for something a little fancier.
I’ve seen some nice blinds and shades at Pay Less Decor. But I can’t decide if I should go for the designer faux wood blinds or the premium aluminum miniblinds.
I think these aluminum ones would be easier to maintain and more practical for kitchen use.
On the other hand, I think my kitchen could use a new trendy look with these faux wood ones.
I really can’t decide. Maybe I should start by ordering some free samples from PayLessDecor.com to help me decide.
