quit following me around

I know promoters are just trying to do their jobs. But do they really have to follow us around like lambs when we browse? It really irritates me.
I don’t like being pressured to buy something just because it looks interesting and I pick it up to have a closer look. Immediately I can feel the promoter breathing down my neck.
I don’t know whether they know it or not, but when they do this, they’re actually indirectly chasing us away. When they start asking questions or explaining the product, I really feel like telling them, “Look, when I find something I like, I’ll let you know, okay? Now quit following me!”
