we might as well not eat!

I went grocery shopping yesterday and I have to say I was shocked out of my skin at the prices of things. Today I went to another grocery store on my way home from buying lunch for the kids, and well, I guess that confirms it!
We’re in for a tough ride here, folks! The price of flour going up has pushed up the prices of anything and everything that’s even remotely flour-based! It’s crazy!
I think we’re going to have to seriously cut down on bread. The kids go through one big loaf of bread a day. They’re not big on rice (neither am I) so they often resort to eating sandwiches for lunch instead.
Okay, so fine, bread is flour-based so we have to accept that’s why its price has gone up. But milk? What’s milk gotta do with flour? Gosh, these are our staples, man. My kids practically live on bread and milk.
At times like these, I wish my kids were more like the regular Asian kids or what we call the ‘rice barrels’. Unfortunately rice isn’t a hot item in this household. But I guess it won’t matter ‘cos sooner or later, even that is going to get expensive

Yes, Where I live, they calculated that the price of end products went up faster than the price of the constituents. I guess that is the way it goes.
