a rant about labels

I was sitting behind a lady at the bank today. I couldn’t help but notice that the label on her blouse was hanging out. She had no way of knowing that, of course, and I wasn’t sure if I should point it out. At any rate, it’s not such a big deal.

But still it got me wondering why manufacturers don’t locate the label elsewhere in the clothing. Well, to be fair, I know some place the labels at the waist where it’s less likely to show.

I have nothing against labels, just that I wish they wouldn’t be so prickly. They’re made of such hard material that they always stick out and jab you. The worst time to have them play up is when you’re out and there’s no way you can snip them off. But the minute I get a chance, off they go!

    Labels are a huge pet peeve of mine. I am one of those people that you dont know, but has to tuck your tag in for you when I see it. I guess its a little OCD, but I can not stand them

    Though clothing manufacturers have only really started doing this recently, I really try and buy t-shirts and tops that have screenprinted labels.. or as you mentioned, the labels that are located around the waist area.

    This can be pretty nerve-wracking, when your tag is sticking out (especially if it is doing it compulsively and you can’t get it to stop) or if it is itchy and you can’t cut it off… or you don’t want to cut it off because you wont know how to wash it then… etc.

    I wish everyone would just migrate to the tagless style of clothing. I suppose there would be a greater fear that the cleaning instructions would wash off, but it seems Hanes has done a pretty good job with it so far.

    @Tiffany
    I’ve done that before for someone but they weren’t too pleased. So I’m hesitant to do it now.

    @kristinaQ
    :lol: If I like the item, I don’t care about the tag, I just grab it and run :wink: .

    @perros
    The cleaning instructions should be pretty standard though, shouldn’t they?
