dressing older than you really are

Raine was remarking the other day that some of her friends’ mothers look old, as in older than they should. I’m not sure that there’s a standard of how old mothers should look 
.
But given that people are getting married later than they used to a generation or two ago, I’m not surprised. Then again, like they say, the clothes make the person. Your choice of clothes, hairstyle and makeup can affect how old you appear to be.
In Asia, many mothers of teens believe they have to dress their age or older in order to be dignified and respected. I have friends in their late 30s and early 40s tell me they can’t wear red or they can’t wear tank tops because they’re only for younger people.
