a wealth of business telephony options

Posted by clair on , gadgets & electronics,

talkswitchNo matter how we look at it, we just can’t do without a good phone system in today’s business.

Even though email is a very popular way to communicate, it’s not without its inherent problems of creating communications problems, especially across cultures.

Many times, it makes more business sense to talk directly to a person or conduct a conference call than to be going back and forth by email where possible.

Running up high phone bills isn’t much of a problem any more, not with the latest VOIP technology available to small and medium-sized businesses these days.

Talkswitch is one of the leading makers of PBX systems for small businesses. It is one of the many top brands marketed by Neobits.com, a premier online resource for telephony products and services.

Let’s face it, communications is so important in business it’s the last thing you’d want to be scrimping on. You want a clear and reliable system, otherwise you’re just wasting your time.

And time is money in business, as you know. It’s definitely worth it to take some time to look at the telephony options available at Neobits if you’re serious about establishing good business communications from the go-get.

if Scrooge bought a Corvette

Posted by clair on , home & garden,

corvette partsI’ve just heard a funny story about how a neighbor of mine saves money. He’s such a Scrooge he scrimps on every cent and hardly buys anything.

Like when his daughter’s car got bashed up in an accident, he hammered out the dents himself, got a can of paint and painted the patch back by hand.

I wonder what car he’s buying for his son now. If he’s buying some exotic make like a Corvette, I’d be waiting to see how he’s going to home-make the Corvette parts in his own backyard!!

I’d advise him to check out the Corvette Guys online if I liked him a little better, but I don’t. None of the neighbors do  . So the fact that CorvetteGuys.com has the best collection of parts for your car will be our little secret.

the worst thing about holiday get-togethers

Posted by clair on , home & garden,

I think the worst thing about the holiday season and family get-togethers is just how much time I have to waste listening to friends and relatives boast.

You think you only see these people like once or twice a year and that surely you can tolerate an evening with them. Apparently even a couple of hours of listening to bragging and boasting can prove entirely too much for me.

It’s amazing how the subject matter can move so quickly from boasting about their children to the number of holidays they’ve gone on to the most exotic of global destinations to the amount of real estate they’ve acquired this year. Yawn!

Next year, I’m considering going to these dinners with my iPod squarely plugged into my ears. Enough is enough  ! Ya-awn!

another trip to the Pavilion

Posted by clair on food & drink, shopping places

We just got back from the Pavilion. Yes, we love the Food Republic for its wide variety of food choices so I decided to drive the kids downtown just to eat at there. Crazy, I know but…

The Food Republic was bustling with hungry people. As usual, we had a hard time deciding what to eat. I think that’s the problem because then we end up eating everything  .

Raine and I had chicken curry with rice and veggies. Steev and Skye had the pandan chicken nasi lemak (chicken chunk wrapped in screwpine leaf over coconut rice).

For drinks, the kids had fresh fruit juice (yum) and I had the ice kacang (shaved ice with an assortment of accompaniments).

Then we saw someone at the next table eating Penang rojak (fruit salad) and we just had to have that before we left. Needless to say, we were stuffed!!

So where are the food photos? Well, Steev’s Canon 30D camera has gone on vacation to Japan so we didn’t take any pictures. Sorry.

fever but not the shopping kind

Posted by clair on talk shop

I’ve been down with the flu and fever the past few days. That absolutely sucks especially when I just want to be out and about enjoying the spirit of Christmas.

Today I’m feeling a little better. My head is throbbing only intermittently now and my fever seems to have subsided. I’m finally able to drag myself and my laptop to my recliner to get online.

Being offline and unable to blog is definitely worse than not being to go to the mall.

Sunway Pyramid’s new extension mall

Posted by clair on shopping places

We made a mad dash into Sunway Pyramid’s new extension mall the other day. It was pouring elephants and donkeys and we were late for a lunch appointment. So I don’t have any photos to share with you.

The place is the maze it has always been. We found the restaurant location from the directory but ended up walking in circles trying to figure out how the store numbers run.

The thing I like best is the parking lot where sensors will light up to show you where the empty spots are. Each parking spot has a light sensor above it. Occupied spots show a red light and available spots show a green light. To find a parking spot, just head for the green light. Ingenious!
