pedestrian mall in Japan

Back in December, DH was in Japan on a business trip. Although I didn’t go, I’m completely bowled over by some of the photos he took of the shopping places. I love shopping, what can I say? Wish I’d been there…

I found this shopping concept of a pedestrian mall pretty interesting. It’s like a row of stores you’d typically find outdoors on a street yet there’s a translucent canopy above that lets some natural light in and shades shoppers from the elements at the same time.
Pretty neat, huh? I haven’t seen many of these around and even then, few are this nice and uncrowded that you can stroll and shop at leisure.
