For some strange reason, though there are traffic jams everywhere, the malls are particularly crowded. It’s like 6 days to the Lunar New Year so there really should be a much bigger buzz than what I’m seeing.
I get the feeling that many people are choosing to cut cost this year by reducing their purchases. The prices of everything have been creeping steadily up over the past few months. Some businesses have gotten smart and reduced the quality and portions of their offerings instead of blatantly increasing prices.
A sheet of tissue paper is thinner than it used to be. I know because when I sneezed into one, it makes a huge hole. This never used to happen before.
We often buy chicken rice and it’s quite obvious the portions are smaller for the same prices. Now Steev needs to eat two servings of chicken rice when before, one serving could last him till dinner time.
