instant butter cake
With all good intentions, I bought ingredients to bake a butter cake. The girls were going to help me and frankly, I thought it’d be nice to have at least a homemade cake for Chinese New Year.
But as it turned out, we didn’t even have bothered. We could’ve just as easily bought one from the deli.
Which was exactly what we did when we chanced upon some freshly baked butter cake coming out of the oven to be packed into boxes.
How nice! The girl even offered us some small pieces to try and it didn’t taste half bad. It didn’t taste like store-bought is what I’m trying to say. So we were instantly sold on the idea.
We’ll just pretend we baked these ourselves 
and no one would be any the wiser. Actually we finished up the whole cake before our guests even came so we didn’t even have to lie about it, so it worked out perfectly
