yay for the wedding gift list

These days, it’s not uncommon for a soon-to-be-married couple to draw up a list of their desired Wedding Gifts to help their friends and family select a gift for them.
This is such a practical idea I don’t know why it didn’t take off sooner 
. Culturally I think it’s probably regarded as being a little too presumptuous to tell someone what you want for a gift, I guess.
But quite frankly, a wedding gift list saves everyone cracking their heads over what the new couple might need for their new life together. I, for one, am always trying to put myself in their shoes when I ponder on a gift to buy.
Secondly, it sure reduces the gift duplication or getting something they have no use for, which kinda defeats the purpose. You want something for them to remember you by and not something for them to give away or exchange.
