me, a sushi chef?
I’ve been meaning to shop for ingredients to make my own California rolls. I’ve got stacks of large seaweed (nori) sheets that DH brought home from his trip to Japan. Now I need to get some Japanese mayo, Japanese rice (which is stickier than normal rice) and wasabi (Japanese green mustard) from Jusco.
Luckily I’ve been procrastinating because just today, I received a flyer from Jusco about their upcoming J-card privilege day sale. This means I can save 5% off their grocery items! 5% is not much but if you consider how expensive these imported Japanese foodstuff is, it does make a difference.
My girl friend of mine has been raving about how easy it is to make sushi at home. Since I’ve got so much seaweed, she says I should probably buy the sushi mat and make my own sushi. She got her mat from Jusco on a best buy promotion. Well, we’ll see, I might buy one if it’s still on promo during the privilege day sale next week.
