I just got a text message from my car salesman inviting me to the launch of their new Honda Civic and I was reminded of how much we’ve taken standard cars for granted.
I was watching a TV program recently about hobbyists who buy up old cars and soup them up to look nothing like what they used to look like originally. You can’t buy these cars. You’ve got to build them yourself.
The transformations are amazing, as is the amount of time, money and effort that goes into creating these beautiful yet functional works of art.
They strip the car, source for used and recycled parts from places like the midwest auto recycling centers, replace the engine and parts and it’s a completely different animal when it’s all done up. Pretty amazing.
