beach trendy!

Posted by clair on , fashion & style,

The weather is hot, hot, hot and that means it’s time to bring out that swimwear and skimpy, ahem, hot lingerie! Oh yeah! Time to go shopping! But before that, a quick look at what you need for this season’s trendy look.

Be sure you have a cut-out swimsuit because that’s in. It’s time to give those matching two-piecers a rest.

Don’t forget your sunblock and bug-eye sunglasses! Yes, those are in and no matter what the shape of your face, be seen in a pair of bug-eyes even if they cover half your face  .

thick skulls and weight loss

Posted by clair on , sports & fitness,

I met a personal trainer the other day who tried to talk me into signing up with him for a workout program. For some strange reason, people seem to assume that just because I’m a workout freak, I’m looking to lose weight.

I’m not fat, okay? I’m at my ideal weight and BMI and frankly, I’m a happy camper just toning her muscles and working on resistance training. Nothing wrong with that, I hope.

If I were looking to lose weight, I’d be buying those hilarious Osim butt  rocking contraptions and accessing one Anoretix review after another in trying to shed  some pounds.

Fact is I’m so not looking to lose weight. But no matter how I try to explain to this trainer guy, he can’t seem to get it into his thick skull. Grrr!

meticulous

Do you ever check your credit card statement item by item, or are you one of those who just look at the balance you have to pay?

I have a friend who keeps all her and her husband’s credit card receipt and compared them with the itemized billing on her credit card statement every month.

Now that’s one very meticulous person who won’t let anything slip her by. I think it’s a good practice if you can keep it up consistently. Do you do that?

no end to grocery shopping

Posted by clair on , food & drink, save money,

Guess what, the weekend’s already begun for me. I just got home from doing my groceries. I was at Carrefour as they’ve got quite a number of things I need on promo.

Well, needless to say, I bought up practically everything but the shower faucets, or was it the kitchen sink  ? Chronic bulk shopper that I am, I reckon since I’m already there, I might as well pile them on.

I was too embarrassed to take a photo of my shopping cart. But trust me, I bought multiples of sphaghetti, milk, Milo, yoghurt, margarine…too many to mention.

I’m not done yet. I’m going to Tesco tomorrow as they have other items on promo that I want to stock up  ! There’s really no end to grocery shopping, is there?

if you have flabby arms

Posted by clair on fashion & style, tips & ideas

The blazing hot weather means that the tank top is probably the first choice of casual wear for most women. I am a self-professed tank top freak myself.

But if you have naturally large limbed or have flabby arms, you might want to opt for something other than a tank top. The slim cut of your tank top will tend to make your arms appear even larger.

So yes, I know it’s hot out and there’s nothing more cooling or comfortable than a tank but choose to go with a light, flimsy top with sleeves instead. That way, you stay cool and no one has to see those arms.

blogging beauty

I was complaining yesterday about blogging in my car that was parked out in the full force of the scorching evening sun.

Well, blogging in a toaster isn’t all bad. Not if you’re blogging with this baby!

Gosh, I love how slim and lightweight and pretty this HP 2133 Mini-note PC is. I can swing it from the back seat of my car without breaking my arm.

Actually I’m thinking it’ll probably fit into my handbag too. How neat it would be if I could blog from the mall, heheh! Nah, there’s a time and place for blogging and the mall just ain’t it! I value my shopping time!
