dressing up furniture

I had coffee last week with a friend who has just bought a new house and she’s in the process of fitting it up. Bad timing, of course, since it’s going to cost her double to get it done up and furnished. Now she’s scratching her head.

And frankly I don’t blame here. Her grand plans are all topsy-turvy now and she’s having to revise her budget. A real pain in the you-know-where. Instead of that designer living room set, she’s probably going to have to settle for discount furniture.

Actually it’s not that bad. Some discount stuff can actually look quite good if you dress them up a little. Another friend of mine gets her furniture from yard sales and dresses them up with a new coat of paint, folk art paintings that she does herself and she has a complete masterpiece right there. It all depends on how resourceful and creative you are.
