desperately seeking small shoes
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
I have a few friends and relatives with really small feet. They find it so hard to find shoes small enough to fit them that they’ve resorted to scouring the children’s shoe department when looking for shoes.
Poor them. It’s so sad they can’t wear all the trendy shoes in the latest fashion but instead have to make do with the childish pinks and kiddy designs.
In fact, it’s gotten to the point where some of us have joined in the search for them. Whenever we see a store that looks like it may carry odd-sized shoes, we’ll pop in and ask. I hear Dansko has a wide variety of comfy shoes and I’m off to check if they have any of these unusual sizes.

can’t find it anymore
I window-shop a lot, sometimes just to appease my ravenous appetite of buying on impulse. While I used to buy in bulk, I’ve kinda stopped doing that except for the very fast-moving items like toiletries and snacks.
Times are bad so I have to be careful about tying up my money by keeping too much stock. Besides the stores are so conveniently nearby I can always pop in on short notice and grab what I need.
The only trouble is if I see something I think I might need and don’t buy it immediately, I can’t seem to find it any more when I do need it. This is what happened when I went looking for a whitehead remover that I’d seen at a drugstore some time ago.
When I went back there later, I couldn’t find it anymore. The store clerk was most helpful and offered me some effective cream for blackheads instead which I ended up buying. I have a houseful of teens so I really have to take note of stuff like this

will home renovations never cease?
I would think that with the economy being on the downturn, home renovations would take a backseat for now. But it sure doesn’t seem that way. I’m getting the distinct impression that maybe contractors are willing to work for a lower rate just to stay in business. I may be wrong, of course.
But another neighbor of ours has just started his home remodeling less than 3 weeks after the first neighbor finished his and we were finally getting some peace and quiet. When we were awakened to the sound of drilling on a Saturday morning, I thought surely they must be using industrial equipment for the huge noise it was making and I went, oh no, not again!!
Darn, what do we have to do to get some peace and quiet around here?

trying to catch up with technology
We spent the weekend looking at what netbooks are available on the market. My son needs one for college as age is catching up with his current laptop which is a couple of years old now.
With technology moving at this speed, anything you buy is rendered practically outdated in a couple of months. We haven’t decided which one to buy yet but we’re prepared to shell out a few more bucks to get the latest technology. At least hopefully then it will last us a little longer before it becomes obsolete or needs to be upgraded

the downside of baking up a storm
I had breakfast this morning with an old friend who’s all excited about the baking course she’s taking. Yes, she’s discovering the joys of baking for the first time in her life and she’s just about bursting with enthusiasm.
I love baking too and we both agree the only part about baking up a storm is the washing up. Yuck! If she seriously wants to make a small business out of this, she might either have to hire someone to do the washing manually or better yet, invest in a couple of hot pressure washers just like the ones they use in restaurants
. Wouldn’t that be fun?
