Paying the same for less

I read in the news that someone apparently decided to actually measure the length of a footlong Subway sandwich and discovered it’s only 11 inches. That’s a whole inch shorter than advertized! Doubtless that was a big hoo-ha on the internet and got a lot of people riled up.

Subs aren’t the only thing that we’re being sold short on. Pasta noodles are also shrinking in length as is the size of toilet paper. Pasta sauce is much runnier than it used to be. Canned drinks are getting skinnier. Brands may tell you their prices have not increased. What they don’t tell you is that they are reducing the portions. So you’re paying the same for less.
