one excuse out the window
It’s hard to believe but we’re two months from Christmas. That isn’t a whole lot of time to get cracking on the holiday planning now, is it? Every year it just gets harder to buy gifts because it seems like we’ve bought everything there is to buy
.
But there’s one thing we can all look forward to and personally, it’s those christmas photo cards that make the holiday season that much more personal.
These days with photo-taking being a daily activity (almost), there are no more excuses not to be able to come up with a personable family photo, which used to be my excuse. I don’t think I’ll be able to get away with this excuse any more

wedding invitations by the half dozen
You wouldn’t believe the number of wedding invitations I’ve received in the month of December alone! Quite honestly, I didn’t think this would be such a popular month for weddings.
Or maybe people just want to get this big-ticket item done with before the brunt of the economic downturn hits next year as predicted. Well, whatever!
Thing is I’m not having such a fun time since I have to shop for wedding gifts in addition to my year-end and Chinese New Year shopping. Duh!
One of my friends commented that while life insurance quotes are easy to compare online, shopping for a wedding gift requires quite a bit of thought and you have to consider what might be useful to a newlywed couple moving into their first home.
That’s the hard part, I think, because I always like my gifts to be practical and well thought-out. Since the internet connection is so slow these past few days, I’ve been hanging out at the mall looking for wedding gifts.

Christmas shopping bargains and food gifts
Are you shopping like a person crazed, like I am? And it’s not just the holiday shopping, it’s that I seem to be getting more wedding invitations arrive at my door! I’m trying to cut back on spending here, people, so would you quit getting married all at once
?
Well, it’s pointless complaining so I set out to look for Christmas shopping bargains instead. You’ll find lots of coupon deals that could add up to quite a bit of savings here.
For those hard to buy for people, I suggest you check out these Christmas food gifts. Everybody loves good food and the holidays are all about catching up and pigging out so food’s a great idea for a gift.

gifts for girls vs guys
Buying clothes for my son has always been so much easier than for my daughters. For boys, there’s only shirts and pants, so straightforward you can’t go far wrong. But for the girls, there are so many designs and colors to choose, and if they’re picky, it makes your job even harder.
As for gifts for birthdays, etc, it’s much to buy for girls because there is so much choice. I’m getting pretty predictable buying gifts for my son. It’s always either a shirt, a watch or a wallet.
He’s a pretty simple guy by modern teen standards, and he seems happy with what I’ve bought him for his birthdays so far. I’m wondering if I should buy him a Manolo Blahnik or another leather wallet this time.
See, I told you I’m getting predictable

guess it’s gonna be a watch then, huh?

We’re a family of watch lovers. I don’t know how many watches we each have sitting around the house. I wear watches more like accessories than for keeping time, well, most of the time.
It’s actually quite easy for us to buy birthday presents for each other. We just can’t go wrong with watches, and one more watch never hurt.
Lately my kids have been looking at Guess watches and I guess that’s a hint that that’s what they want for their coming birthdays.
Should I surprise them with one or should I take them to choose the design they want?

twist hide box
I must’ve walked past a Red Envelope store about a thousand times but I’ve never once thought to step in.
Well, mainly it’s because I somehow always thought they sell paper and wrappings until I came across their website today and found this…
It’s a twist hide box for storing little trinkets, mementos and what have you. I think if I had one of these, I wouldn’t be able to stop twisting it open and shut.
Wouldn’t this make the perfect present for one of my girls? I really must go check out the store next time I walk past it  .
