home improvement on the drawing board

Posted by minutechaser on , home & garden,

I had no idea that the house my girl friend is living in now is close to 50 years old. Well, I did notice some of the features are a little outdated but 50 years old?! I wonder when was the last time she had her home refurbished.

I’m too embarrassed to ask. I know she doesn’t have a lot of money to spend on home improvement. But you know what, she brought up the topic herself the other day. Apparently she found out Home Depot coupons at Savings.com can really help her save and she just might be able to afford having some minor work done here and there for a start.

I think that’s pretty good. Times are slow, we all know that, and every little bit goes a long way. So I’d say if you can get a good deal, why not go for it? She obviously thinks that too so she’s planning. I’m not sure how soon she’ll get started on it as she has other commitments to sort out first.

She’s been feeling down lately but I’m sure she will be very happy once she gets some new fixtures and other small work done around the house.

Christmas shopping almost done!

Posted by minutechaser on , home & garden,

We spent the entire weekend shopping till we dropped. We recently stumbled upon a new mall on the outskirts of town that we’d been wanting to check out. And we did!

And what a find it was! There were so many stores to explore that it sure looked like we bought up everything in sight. If there were those spa covers I’ve been looking, I’m sure I would’ve snapped them up in no time too.

But we only ended up buying clothes, clothes and more clothes. Now everyone’s happy and contented that our Christmas shopping is almost done, dare I say  ?

the search for cheap apartments made easy

Posted by minutechaser on , home & garden,

You know how everyone’s complaining about the high cost of living and the rising prices. So when it comes to having to relocate, which can be quite a costly exercise, I’ll bet everyone’s trying to save as much as they possibly can.

MyCheapApartments.com is a great starting place to look for Affordable Apartments in any area of your choice. They have a website which is a breeze to navigate and you can basically enter any search criteria such as location, price range, apartment type and you’ll get a whole list of options.

You can find photos of each property which will help give you an idea of what you’re up against. From seeing the layout and design, you can immediately decide if you like the place and would like to get more details about it.

Also you can do all this preliminary shortlisting in the comfort of your own living room instead of running around from one place to the next to physically check them out. So yeah, definitely that takes away some of the stress of moving.

I think finding that ideal apartment is the first big step. The moving itself, well, you can always enlist the help of friends and family, right?

find the best deals on foreclosed homes

Posted by minutechaser on , home & garden,

I recently found out from my neighbor that there’s a home in our neighborhood that’s facing a foreclosure. The house is fairly new and has been extensively renovated. We never expected it would be foreclosed as the owner always had a fleet of expensive vehicles parked outside.

A foreclosure happens when a homeowner defaults on their mortgage payments which then allows the bank to seize the property and sell it as quickly as possible. Because banks are looking to make quick sales, foreclosures can be an excellent bargain to consider.

Whether you’re looking for Kansas City Foreclosed Homes or anywhere else, Foreclosure Patch is a great place to start. There’s a wide range of homes in practically any location in the US. All you have to do is specify your selection criteria such as price range, and location and you will then be able to browse through the details and photographs of the properties.

The website is easy to navigate with lots of affordable housing options. And I personally find the level of detail for each property to be very useful in enabling someone to make an informed decision on which properties they might like to shortlist.

find land contract homes near you

Posted by minutechaser on , home & garden,

Looking for a new home can often be time-consuming and stressful. If you ask me, I’d rather stay put. Then again, that’s not always practical nor doable. I think a great place to start is online though not all property sites are created equal. Some are not exactly the user-friendliest.

I find that TheLandContract.com site is very easy to navigate. If, say, you’re looking for Colorado Springs Land Contract Homes, all you have to do is enter the location, select the other criteria that you would like to search by and the site does the rest.

The site offers a huge selection of homes that meet your preference and you can then browse through the features and other details at leisure. The best part is the abundance of photos that you can view. I love those the best because like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

And really at the end of the day, it saves you time and money because you can easily shortlist the homes you like ahead of time before making a trip to check them out in even greater detail. Everything you need to make a preliminary decision is all right there at your fingertips  .

what do you do on summery evenings?

Posted by minutechaser on , home & garden,

If you’re thinking of doing up your yard or patio with outdoor décor, I guess this is as good a time as any. The weather has been very helpful and the days are getting warmer even as we speak. It’s really nice to be able to sit outside on a warm, breezy evening, do a bit of gardening, have a long cool drink and watch the world wind down. What do you do on summery evenings?
