Shopping for cheap auto insurance

Our weather’s been really freaky lately. I try not to go out in the evenings when there’s usually these sudden electric storms causing traffic jams that go on for miles. A short trip could take hours if you’re caught in one of those.

All it takes is a storm like that and drivers, instead of slowing down, will tend to speed up. Sometimes there could be 2 or 3 traffic accidents on one stretch of highway. Terrible! And then traffic is backed up for miles. Some of my friends who work in the city will take like 2-3 hours to reach home!

In these economic times, it’s wise to not only go shopping for cheap auto insurance but also for comprehensive coverage, maybe even against an act of God. I drove by a car that was struck by a falling tree the other day and it really got me thinking that no matter how carefully you drive, things like this can happen.

I was just reading that Johnny Depp, my favorite Captain Sparrow from the movie ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, has remodeled his own yacht on the Caribbean after a pirate theme. But why? I’m wondering, when there are so many beautiful caribbean hotels to choose from?

If you ask me, I’d choose to stay at one of the Ocho Rios hotels for a month. Okay, so I’m a little greedy. I can’t be away from my kids for so long but it’s good to dream nevertheless.

Actually bringing the kids might not be such a bad idea seeing as how the all inclusive hotels will have something for everyone. It’s going to take some planning but I’ll float this idea around to my family and friends, and who knows we could be on our way to the Caribbean this summer?

should I chrome up my car?

No shopping today as my car has gone to the workshop this morning. Business is so good for my mechanic he can’t get done fixing my car till tomorrow. Good thing he lent me his spare car to use. He has a few sitting around his workshop lot and today’s came with all the chrome accessories. He tells me I can easily purchase them online at Carid and he can fix them on for me. When I can afford it, I might consider giving my car a bit of a ’shine’ now that my son is probably going to be using it more often than me . Yes, my teen tells me chrome is the new black.

The school break is here again but once again, we haven’t planned anything though the idea of Branson vacations does sound really attractive right now. Anything to get away from the hot weather!

But no, we haven’t booked anything and we’re on a tight budget here. So we’re just going shopping. You know, roam around the local malls and do a bit of window-shopping and eating out, that’s it! The break is only a week long so I doubt we can even plan anything much at such short notice.
