going shopping!

The school break is here again but once again, we haven’t planned anything though the idea of Branson vacations does sound really attractive right now. Anything to get away from the hot weather!

But no, we haven’t booked anything and we’re on a tight budget here. So we’re just going shopping. You know, roam around the local malls and do a bit of window-shopping and eating out, that’s it! The break is only a week long so I doubt we can even plan anything much at such short notice.

At around this time of year, I need to do a lot of shopping for Chinese New Year so I’m right in there comparing prices like there’s no tomorrow. There’s so much to buy for festive gifts and meals it’s the only wise thing to do if I want to get the best for less.

There are so many new malls to explore too and some of them are pretty far from the city where the prices are somewhat lower. Me and my handy dandy gps, we can’t wait to check them out this weekend! My shopping list is getting to be the length of my arm and I’m still not done yet. I just hope they have shopping carts big enough for me .

a stress-free romantic wedding

I guess this year’s Valentine’s Day is no different from any other in terms of being the most popular day for weddings. It’s so romantic, isn’t it, to be married on the most lovey-dovey day of the year! I’d say.

Having said that, planning a wedding can be very stressful. Who needs stress? Exactly what many couples are thinking these days and probably the biggest reason why many are opting for destination weddings with wedding and honeymoon all rolled into one easy package.

A wedding on the white sandy beaches of the Riviera Maya? Now you’re talking. The entire resort is designed to let couples get the most out of their big day with the least amount of stress. Sounds like a romance made in heaven!

dreaming of a vacation already?

Well, the first weekday of the year is here! I managed to stay home yesterday and do a bit of housecleaning instead of going shopping. That, in itself, is a major achievement, no ?

Over the holidays, we went on a beach vacation and the kids had a really great time, so much so that they’re making me promise to take them on a Caribbean vacation next time.

Can you believe we’re talking about another all inclusive vacation so soon? It’s only the first day of school so you can see how hard it is to get back into the grind after the holidays.

But first, I’m going to have to work really hard and save up even harder before I can even start looking for that all inclusive vacation package we’re talking about. Our bank account has been depleted from all that holiday spending so for now, we can only dream and talk about it.

where do you, where do you go?

The holiday season is approaching faster than you think. Gosh, I haven’t even got all of my shopping done, have you? This is the busiest time of year for me and it’s work, work, work! But I’m not going anywhere so I guess I still have time to shop till the last minute.

I overheard a group of ladies at Starbucks talking about where to get the best cruise deals. Not that I can claim to know much about that. I don’ know, where do cougars go on vacation and with whom?

From listening in on those women’s conversation, it would seem like they’re planning to go on a cruise in a group. Interesting though they still weren’t quite decided on where to go. But it seems like they’ve been almost everywhere , the wonders of having lots of cash at your disposal, I guess.

I don’t know these women but from what I hear, they know just about the best places to go to celebrate the holidays and new year. These are your party animals, not homebodies like me. I’m just happy to get my gift shopping done. As for the holiday cooking that awaits me, that’s a whole other story .

I’m not sure yet but we may be going on a short vacation. Nothing fancy that will require us to invest in new luggage sets or anything, probably just a drive up the coast for a couple of days.

As usual, I’m late with getting the year-end vacation organized. Seems to be the procrastinator in me that more often than not, we wind up with the hotels being fully booked and not getting to go in the end .

So we’ll just have to see about the little plan I have in mind this time. Wish me luck and the will to get off my butt .
